2 - Coffee Region
Two days of our trip will be devoted to discovering the Eje Cafetero, Colombia's Coffee Triangle. The triangle is nestled in Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda, and Tolima, where most of the country’s coffee is cultivated. Engage in a hands-on experience at a traditional coffee farm, learning the intricacies of coffee production from harvest to packaging. This region, recognized for its sustainable practices, features stunning landscapes and vibrant urban centers set against the backdrop of the Andes. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its unique coffee-growing heritage.
Embark on a journey to the Mariposario in Quindio’s Botanical Garden to witness a spectacular array of butterflies, and explore the enchanting Cocora Valley within Los Nevados National Park, home to Colombia's iconic and endangered wax palms, which can reach towering heights of 60 meters (200 feet). This adventure promises unforgettable memories and a profound appreciation for Colombia’s natural beauty.
